CARA
CARA is a statewide network of hundreds of organizations that educate and inform its membership, the public, and elected officials about the issues that affect the well-being of California’s older adults – and mobilizes its members to take action on these issues.

Justice in Aging
The opportunity to live with dignity, regardless of financial circumstances—free from the worry, harm, and injustice caused by lack of health care, food, or a safe place to sleep. By using the power of law to strengthen the social safety net and remove the barriers low-income seniors face in trying to access the services they need, we work to ensure the future we all envision for our loved ones and ourselves.

CWDA
The County Welfare Directors Association of California - CWDA - is a nonprofit association representing the human service directors from each of California’s 58 counties. The Association’s mission is to promote a human services system that encourages self-sufficiency of families and communities and protects vulnerable children and adults from abuse and neglect.

To accomplish this mission, CWDA:

  • Advocates for policies that will further the mission of the organization.

  • Educates state and federal policymakers and the public regarding the significance of human services policies on individuals, communities, and county human services operations.

  • Collaborates with county human service agencies, state and federal governmental entities and community-based organizations to ensure efficient and effective service delivery and the exchange of best and promising practices.

Disability Rights California
Disability Rights California (DRC) defends, advances, and strengthens the rights and opportunities of people with disabilities.

DRC works for a world where all disabled people have power and are treated with dignity and respect. In this world, people with disabilities are supported, valued, included in their communities, afforded the same opportunities as people without disabilities, and make their own decisions.

DRC values all forms of human diversity. We are committed to a culture of belonging where all people are welcome. In order to be effective advocates for all people with disabilities, we must address discrimination in all its forms, including the unique challenges faced by people who experience the intersection of multiple systems of discrimination.

Bet Tzedek Legal Services
We are a community organization that provides justice, stability, and hope to those experiencing discrimination, disparities, and exploitation. Based on the central tenet of Jewish law and tradition “tzedek, tzedek, tirdof”—”justice, justice you shall pursue,” Bet Tzedek provides legal advocacy grounded in the lived experiences of the communities we serve. Through our network of attorneys and advocates, we provide free comprehensive legal services, education, and policy advocacy to low-income individuals and families across Los Angeles County.

UDW - CICA MEMBER
We are a union made up of over 148,000 home care and family child care providers throughout California. Like all work done by women and people of color, care work has been historically excluded from the labor rights and protections afforded to other fields. UDW began nearly 50 years ago to fight this systemic injustice and has won many victories by building power from—and for—our traditionally underserved workforce. Through sharing our strengths and experiences, we have won many victories for care workers including paid sick leave, vacation pay, and overtime. We also advocate for the seniors, people with disabilities, and children we serve.

But UDW is about more than pay and working conditions. As a union founded by people of color that serves a membership that is by majority women and people of color, we believe our existence is itself revolutionary and are dedicated to transforming society to better reflect the American ideal of “And Justice for All.” UDW fights for home care and child care providers—but also for the communities in which we live. Our vision of justice is a world where everyone has the resources they need to live a good life, where equality and dignity are possible, and where no one is discriminated against based on who they are, where they live, or who they love.
